Developed Thumbnails on NASA the cause of sending Dinosaurs to Space.

Developed some Thumbnails for possible layout of editorial image and also starting drawing dinosaurs and space rocket to get an idea of what they look like and how I could draw them.
Thumbnails are to get an idea of the composition I might want to try with the concept of Dinosaurs being in space. Subject Matter is mostly just an astronaut,Dinosaur, Mars, Space rocket.

Researched some more about Space and inhabiting space. How NASA is trying to discover whether mars can be lived on.

More Research into Creating a Myth

Thumbnails and Research

I researched more into the conspiracy theory of Dinosaurs not existing and decided on maybe basing my theory on Dinosaurs in space. Since I was originally deciding between the moon theory of the dinosaur theory I decided to add elements of both. The conspiracy theory that Dinosaurs were sent to space by NASA.
I decided on this because NASA is a research company which research a lot into space and planets, so it could be possible that they sent dinosaurs there to experiment on whether they could survive.

I Also drew some more thumbnails for this new idea of Dinosaurs being in space.

Some general research on the asteroid from space killing dinosaurs and other theories relating to the extinction of dinosaurs.

Week 2- Developing Idea

Conspiracy creation myth

Humans were aliens that invaded earth. The radiation from the space ships caused a large portion of the dinosaurs to die. The Humans hid this fact so that they could hide the embarrassment that Humans actually were the reason why dinosaurs don't exist. They Hid it through covering up with stories of the natural disaster.

Conspiracy Theory Thumbnails

Drew Thumbnails developing conspiracy theory of dinosaurs. Needed to Research more into the reason why the theory was created. I learned that I wasn't fully understanding the brief and had to go back and brainstorm more thumbnails on visually showing how the conspiracy theory was created and not what the conspiracy theory was.

Magazine Research

Researched some magazines to figure out which one that would suit my style and topic. I am probably leaning more towards New Scientist in terms of style and subject matter at the moment.

Time magazine

From looking at the magazines it seems that time magazine has a more comedic approach to the magazine in terms of some topics through imagery but addresses issues seriously. Maybe provoking a type of response. Also they use a lot of photographic imagery or realistic (detailed).

New Scientist

Has Images that are abstract but also simple illustrated imagery. Has a comedic approach to the magazine but also has realistic serious issues.

National Geographic Magazine

Has quite realistic detailed imagery of mostly animals and wildlife.Quite serious when addressing issues.

Life Magazine

Has a old look to the magazine. It is also quite simple in terms of imagery and text. The magazine is mostly about people and their lives.

Class Exercise-Creating a Conspiracy Theory in Partners

Drew some ideas on how to show the conspiracy theory

We tried to act out and visually represent a conspiracy with our partner as an introduction to the project. I guess that it helped to branstorm different ideas as a inspiration for the project. It could help to progress the progect in terms of creatively linking ideas together.

Independent Research for next session

I researched up both the moon conspiracies and dinosaur conspiracies, to be able to decide which one I wanted to visually represent as my Magazine editorial image.

Dinosaurs

Conspiracy theory 1
Dinosaurs were made extinct from the meteor that crashed into the Mexican peninsula because it created a dust cloud that blocked the sun. When the sun was blocked the herbivore's vegetation died causing them to die and with the herbivores dead the carnivores had no food and eventually died as well.

Conspiracy theory 2
Dinosaurs never existed and the fossils are made of different parts of bones from existing animals.

Conspiracy theory 3
Dinosaurs became extinct from the poisonous gas from the volcanoes. The poisonous gas infected the herbivore's food which caused them to die and with the herbivores dead the carnivores died.

Conspiracy theory 4
Dinosaurs became extinct from the meteor both land and water. Some survived through Noah's Ark ( 2 baby dinosaurs each).
